Oops and Ohs

TEA TIME

I always use the school restroom right after lunch. So one day I went into the stall and squatted down. Instead of my pee going in the toilet, it hit the lower part of my jeans! I freaked out, and decided to cuff my pants, but you could still see some of the wetness. When I walked out of the stall, there was a girl there; I just said, "Oh my gosh, I spilled tea on the leg of my jeans!" Nobody noticed, but I had to walk around school with pee on my pants!

Help from Brian and Jen.

I like this guy at school, and all my friends are pretty sure he likes me. But he won't admit it! Do you think I should tell him that I like him? Please reply.
—Confused

You need to keep something in mind with issues like this. Guys are simpler creatures than girls. There, I said it. So if you want to know if he likes you, you might need to be the one who asks. Subtlety will not work with boys if you want a direct answer. The fact that he did not tell his friends that he likes you is actually a good sign. If he didn't like you, he would say so; but by saying nothing, he just might be implying that yes, he does like you (he probably just doesn't want his buddies to tease him). Side note: his friends teasing him about you is not a statement about you; it's what guys do. They make fun of each other. But as far as I can tell, you seem to be in a nice spot regarding your crush.

I wonder if he is asking himself that exact question, about you, right now. He could be trying to figure out if you like him. Guys generally don't want to make fools of themselves by making the first move, unless they are pretty certain that the outcome will be positive. If you are asking if you should go running up to him to proclaim that you have the world's biggest crush on him, I would say no. There are other ways to let him know you are interested. Strike up a conversation about something that interests him, such as his favorite band. Ask him how he does all those awesome skateboarding tricks (flattery always works), or if he's seen the new movie that you saw last weekend. Basically, be nice to him, talk to him, and don't shy away. Give him a call, just to talk, or send him an email.  He'll get the idea. If he's interested, he'll respond. Just don't pressure him or he might end up crawling into his locker when he sees you. Guys hate pressure! Good luck!
